Staff Vacancies
The Bishop’s Stortford YMCA has recently been awarded a contract to provide supported housing to its residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week, commencing January 2008. It is therefore currently recruiting for the following posts:
Housing Support Worker(s)
Evening and Weekend Work £17,500 - £19,500 (subject to experience)
Assistant Housing Support Worker(s)
Night Work £15,500 - £17,500 (subject to experience)
These posts have responsibility for support work with residents during their tenancy and as they prepare for their resettlement to other accommodation. Knowledge of supported housing and young people is highly desired. Also, an ability and enthusiasm for individual face to face and group work, as well as the desire to support, advise and enable young people to develop. Due to the nature of the work we will consider job sharing for these posts.

- Overall management responsibility for the Association, its staff, volunteers and property
- Strategic development of the Association
- Developing partnerships with appropriate organisations

- Preparing the Association for quality assurance reviews
- Providing supervision and annual appraisals for staff
- Enabling the staff to develop to their full potential through monitoring and professional training
Operations Manager
- Overall financial management of the Association
- Production and interpretation of management accounts
- Premises management
- Office management
- "Supporting People" monitoring
- Liaising with YMCA England Housing Department
- Acting as team leader in the day-to-day running of the organisation in the absence of the Chief Executive
Housing Support and Resettlement Workers
- Applications process
- Nominations reports
- Residents' meetings
- 'Crash-Pad' co-ordination
- Personal and social development programmes for residents
- Updating of housing management and key working information on Supportfile Software
- Resettlement Process
Advice Worker
- Team leader for staff and volunteers providing advice episodes
- Developing life skills work
- Making links with other providers and services
- Providing advice for residents/external clients
