Social Housing
Key Strategies
- Explore innovative approaches to identifying public and private sector partnerships, especially those that enable greater access to 'move-on' accommodation
- Develop a strategic relationship with the National Housing Federation
- Develop a multi-layered approach towards housing provision and associated care and support packages ensuring that positive forward approaches towards permanent independent accommodation are made
- Concentrate resources on sustaining tenancies and moving towards a progressive path of independent living
- Provide stable housing and consistent, committed and relevant support
- Develop innovative policies resulting in significant and positive effects on reducing vulnerability due to primary care group categorisation
- Form partnerships with the Criminal Justice Boards and other similar groups in Hertfordshire and Essex and develop a common approach towards housing and support, hence avoiding the need to deal with problems in isolation
- Develop continually evolving mechanisms for assessing risk and related issues
- Improve communications between all stakeholders in the local community hence clarifying the purposes and benefits of providing good housing for ex-offenders and other groups
- Develop an inclusive business plan that recognises key agencies, including social services, probation and court services, refuge forums and community health
Move-On Accommodation
- Explore innovative approaches to identifying public and private sector partnerships, especially those that enable greater access to 'move-on' accommodation
- Develop flexible and appropriate 'move-on' support packages to satisfy the requirements of both young adults and commissioning bodies
- Forge alliances with local authorities in order to source appropriate 'move-on' properties
- Work consistently with regional housing providers in order to reduce the number of people in hostels waiting for appropriate 'move-on' accommodation
